Light Me Up

Hey, friend, hey!

A good interior install requires some great lighting, that's why this week's blog is geared towards subtle fixture changes that ignites big, bright impact!

Have you ever walked into someone's home and noticed a very grandiose light fixture in the foyer? What about a set of pendant lights over the kitchen island? Changing out your light fixtures is one way to revamp your space. Whether you want to add a ceiling fan to your living room or maybe some can lights to an upstairs loft, choosing the right type of fixture can implicitly define, in a very good way, your interior space. However, if you're going to change out your fixtures, make sure you hire a professional electrician who can rewire and install your hardware the right way.

If you're thinking, is there another way to revamp your home without hiring a professional AND purchasing lighting fixtures *Cha-Ching*? Why, yes, I'm glad you asked! Adding lamps around the home can also play a big role in how warm and inviting you decide you want to make your space. Whether they stand on the floor or sit on a table, lamps with enough lighting can be the one decor piece you needed for your reading nook, a console table in a dimly lit hallway or even a corner you're wanting to fill up. Tripod lamps have been trending in the past few years because they aren't bulky, they can be dainty and simple with a touch of class.

Another great way to spruce up a powder or master bathroom is by switching out the standard lighting fixture with hardware that are a bit more up to date and on-trend. Here is an example of how you can remove lighting fixtures traditionally installed above a mirror, with lighting scones in between a set of mirrors.

Before deciding whether changing out your lighting fixture is right for you and your space, start with the exterior. Can your front porch light use a face-lift? Do your patio lights not give you the ambiance you want when entertaining guests? Start by changing those fixtures out first, you'll be surprised how easy and inexpensive it is to update the exterior and it'll only inspire you to spruce up the hardware on the interior
